Trip Itinerary

Palermo
Day 1-2
First day is always the arrival day!! We will meet at our cozy hostel to unpack our staff and get to know each other. After everyone is settled, we will start exploring Palermo together. In the afternoon we will walk around the center of Palermo and for the dinner we will head back to the Olivella district. It comes alive when the sun goes down and has some great restaurants.
2
Palermo
Day 2-3
The second day starts with a walking tour (with a tour guide) who will take us to discover the streets of Palermo. In this city each monument, each name and even each souvenir has a reason to be and has a background story that deserves to be told. Street food is one of the excellence of this Italian city: if you love good food, this city is the right place for you!
3
Catania
Day 3-6
It's the third day on this beautiful island, and we will take the bus to visit another magical place, Catania (2:30 hours from Palermo). We will have time to explore the city and all the hidden gems, taste some of their local dishes and drink some good wine.
4
Taormina
Day 6
The fourth day we will go on a daily trip to Taormina, a wonderful small town in the east coast of Sicily, 1 hour from Catania. Taormina is steeped in everything “old town charm” from cobbled lanes, Baroque churches, sweeping sea views, and a buzzing foodie scene. Orange and palm trees swing in the sea breezes. In the afternoon we will catch the train and back to Catania!
5
Mount Etna
Day 6
Mount Etna is one of the highest volcano in Europe and one of the most active in the world. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013, the smoking volcano craters and the old and new lava flows, are always an impressive experience for visitors. We will go on a half day guided tour on Mount Etna including a guided trek around its craters, landscape, and lava flow cave. The only things you need are comfortable shoes, clothes and your positive energy! (this activity is not suitable for pregnant women, people with mobility impairments and people with high blood pressure). Of course, this activity is not mandatory!
6
Catania
Day 6
Our last day in Catania includes our visit to the fresh food market, which sells seasonal vegetables and juicy fruit, much of it grown on the fertile soil around the city. After our market stroll, head back to the city’s central square – Piazza del Duomo. This lively square has an abundance of interesting sights, but the stunning Cathedral of Sant’Agata will easily captivate all of our attention. Continuing walking around the area, discovering the beautiful alleys and taste the local food for the last time before everyone is heading back home.
